Where to find and use Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps in Final Fantasy XIV

In Final Fantasy XIV’s latest update, Patch 6.3, a new type FFXIV Gil of Timeworn Map has been added. These Ophiotauroskin Maps will lead directly to Elpis and unlock treasure and possibly access the new dungeon, The Shifting Gymnasion Agonon. Here’s how to find and use the Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps.

Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps will appear as a rare gathering item in level 90 gathering nodes in Elpis. Each character has a chance to find one Timeworn map a day, so to get Ophiotauroskin Maps, make sure you’re gathering in Elpis. These will only spawn in level 90 gathering nodes, so don’t grab any maps from lower-level nodes.

Because Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps are tradable, you’ll also find them on the Marketplace. Currently, depending on your server Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps are selling for between one and ten million gil, although the price is likely to fall soon. It's always a better bet to gather your own to sell or use.

How to use Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps in FFXIV.

To use a map, first make sure you’re in a party, as whoever is in your party when the map is opened are the only people who will be able to join you if you unlock a dungeon portal. Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps will always lead to Elpis. Identify the location the map is showing, and head there to discover a Treasure Chest. Defeat the enemies that spawn, and unlock the treasure chest for rewards. These enemies will be level 90, and designed to be tackled by at least a light party of adventurers.

There’s also a chance that after you open the Treasure Chest a portal to a dungeon, possibly The Shifting Gymnasion Agonon, will be unlocked. You, and any party members you’re with will be teleported to the dungeon.

What rewards do Timeworn Ophiotauroskin Maps give in Final Fantasy XIV?
Timeworn maps will give at least 10,000 gil, 10 Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy, and the chance to drop Burning Horns, Bottles of Exciting Tonic, and other rare crafting materials. These materials are usually incredibly highly sought after and sell for large amounts of gil on the Marketplace.
